it was my first time to "Yuen Long District" in Hong Kong. it seems like a nice area to explore if i have got more time in hkg. my friend brought me to this stretch of outdoor food joint to have our dinner and the place is packed with people!

we settled down randomly at one of the eating place and omg the food is awesome!

this chicken dish called " Kou shui ji" is really good! i am not really a meat eater but totally love it!

then the next day we went back to the same area ( seafood restaurant) for dim sum! yes! more food!

Hong Kong - Lab Made ( Liquid Nitrogen ice cream) / Volume One (concept store)

YES! i was in hong kong again last week. hehe. i think i put on some weight during the trip cause i have been eating and eating! omg. because everything in hong kong is just so tasty! :) everyday i can jus eat the wanton noodles and never get sick of it. ( wanton noodles is just so bloody good in hkg) but anyhow, this post is not about wanton noodles.
it is about my first time watching how liquid nitrogen ice cream is made and also the first time eating it! Erm.. i don't think there is any liquid nitrogen ice cream selling in singapore right?not that i know of or is it because i am "sua ku"??? wahaha.
My friend brought me to the one at brown st ( near causeway bay). The place is called Lab made or Liquid Nitrogen Ice cream ( their print poster put LabMade but the signage put Liquid Nitrogen Ice cream).
Image
the place was crowded with curious people watching how the ice cream is made.cause the staff will only prepare the ice cream after the customer placed their order. SO YES THEY MAKE THE ICE CREAM INSTANTLY! The process of making is to turn liquid custard into putty-textured frozen ice cream within seconds! this is possible because of the addition of liquid nitrogen!

i love the area where the ice cream shop is located. Quiet, peaceful and there are a few nice cafes and concept shops around. if you have the time to spare in hong kong, can take a walk at school st and brown st. there are some interesting stuff to see ( but come with a pricey price tag! haha).

i had the Japanese Matcha. Erm, it tasted really just like any other normal ice cream! wahaha.. and it melts really fast! so i guess what really attracts people to eat the ice-cream  was probably just due to their unique way of making the ice cream. Like something new to people to be able to watch the process of making the ice cream instantly.
The place is really small, not much seats around so we got to stand while eating! other than that, we have got no complaint about the whole experience. :)

Like i said, there are a few nice shops around.this particular one called Volume one is somewhat different from the rest.  i really like how the owners did to the interior of the place and one of them is really friendly and kind enough to explain how they come about having the concept and start up the place.

the first moment when we entered the shop, we thought it was a cafe , because the first thing we saw were cakes, bread etc. but as we walked further into the shop, we saw....
Image
clothes! accessories! Furnitures! and i swear the stuff in there are not cheap. Mostly are imported from places like UK, Europe. i saw this ring that i really like, it cost like almost $1000. wtf. gave up the idea of owning it. haha. now i am just trying to save up for my 2-3 weeks trip to japan next year. hopefully i am able to go! hehe

cool yeah? ( Pardon the bad quality of the pictures. all taken using my iPhone)
that's all! Have a great weekend everyone!
